Top Y Fron Hall, Grade II* listed country house in Connah's Quay, Wales

Top Y Fron Hall is a three-story brick house in Connah's Quay with a symmetrical front and five window sections across the upper levels. The facade features continuous parapets topped with stone copings and flush sash windows arranged in regular proportions.

The house was built in the early 1700s and ranks among the first brick buildings constructed in Flintshire at that time. Key interior elements including the staircase were added or updated around 1760, reflecting changes made later in the century.

The dining room features wood paneling that was collected from different periods, giving the space a layered sense of history. This assembled interior tells a story about how the house evolved over time.

The front entrance uses splayed stone steps leading into a central hall with a flagstone floor. Inside, you can see decorative turned balusters and twisted newels that showcase the craftsmanship of the period.

The living room features a carved overmantel decorated with floral patterns set within a stone frame. Alcoves flanking this element add depth to the room and draw attention to this ornamental detail that many visitors miss.
