Lethendy House, Category B listed building in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.

Lethendy House is a stone residence in Perth and Kinross centered around a tower from the 1600s. The early tower was later expanded with additional rooms and extensions that developed around the original core.

The tower was built in the 1600s as a defensive structure, typical of Scottish homes of that period. Through the centuries the property changed hands several times, with each owner adapting it to their needs while keeping the original tower intact.

The house displays Scottish features you can see when you walk through it: steep roofs, thick stone walls, and low-ceilinged rooms built for harsh weather. The way rooms connect follows the traditional layout for homes of important families in Scotland.

Access is limited since this is a protected building, so check the visiting conditions beforehand. If access is granted, focus on the outside structure and layout to understand how the building developed over time.

The tower was built with special Renaissance techniques using thick stone layers for protection, which was uncommon in the building styles of that area. This construction is still visible today in the unusually thick walls that strike you upon entering.
