Allan H. Treman State Marine Park, Public marina and park at Cayuga Lake, Ithaca, United States.
Allan H. Treman State Marine Park is a marina and recreational park at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, New York. It offers a large number of seasonal boat slips, a multi-lane boat launch, and a waterfront that connects directly to the New York State Canal System.
The park is named after Allan Hosie Treman, a Cornell University law professor who became a driving force in regional park planning from the late 1800s onward. He served on the Finger Lakes Park Commission, shaping conservation priorities in the area for decades.
The Hog Hole wetland, tucked along the edge of the park, draws birdwatchers who come to spot waterfowl and wading birds throughout the year. Locals also use the boat launch and docks as part of their regular weekend routines on Cayuga Lake.
The park is open year-round from dawn to dusk and welcomes both boaters and those who simply want to walk along the waterfront. Weather on Cayuga Lake can shift quickly, so checking conditions before heading out on the water is always a good idea.
Near the waterfront, a stand of old cottonwood trees grows alongside maples, reaching heights that make them visible from the water itself. Many visitors walk straight to the docks without ever noticing this canopy overhead.
