Stewart Park, Public park at Cayuga Lake shore in Ithaca, United States.
Stewart Park is a large recreational area along the southern end of Cayuga Lake with walking paths, playgrounds, and picnic facilities throughout the grounds. The park includes tennis courts, athletic fields, rentable pavilions, and a spray pool for cooling off.
The land was originally designated as a military lot in 1790 before being transformed into Renwick Park in 1894. It received its current name, Stewart Park, in 1921.
The bird sanctuary here draws birdwatchers who come to observe local species in their natural setting. People use this quiet area to connect with wildlife throughout the year.
The park is open from dawn to dusk with free admission and plenty of open spaces to explore on foot. Note that some facilities like pavilions require advance booking if you want to use them.
A working carousel from the 1950s sits on the grounds and offers rides during summer months. This vintage amusement ride is a surprising detail that many visitors encounter while exploring the park.
