Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena, Multi-purpose stadium in Ashwaubenon, US.
Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena was a multi-purpose indoor venue in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, sitting directly across from Lambeau Field and holding around 5,000 seats. It served as the home of regional hockey and basketball teams and also hosted a range of local events.
The arena opened on November 11, 1958, dedicated as a memorial to veterans of World War II. It stood for over 60 years before being torn down in 2019 to make way for a new exhibition center on the same site.
The arena was a gathering spot for hockey and basketball fans from across the region, who came regularly to cheer on local teams. Its name reminded every visitor that the building stood as a tribute to those who served in World War II.
The arena no longer exists, as it was demolished in 2019, but the new venue built on the same site can be reached by following directions to the former location near Lambeau Field. The area is easy to navigate on foot if you are already visiting the stadium across the street.
In April 2019, just before demolition began, Brown County residents were invited to take home individual seats from the arena. Many people who had spent years watching games there left with a personal piece of the building as a keepsake.
