CityDeck, Wooden boardwalk in downtown Green Bay, United States
CityDeck is a wooden boardwalk along the Fox River in downtown Green Bay that features multiple platforms with direct views of the water. The path stretches over roughly a quarter mile and connects different areas, including a large open-air stage with tiered seating and a network of wooden decks for walking.
Construction began in 2009 to revitalize an unused riverfront area, with work completing in 2012. This transformation converted a forgotten waterside space into an active community gathering place.
The open-air stage serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors watch concerts, theater shows, and community events throughout the year. This is where the neighborhood comes together to celebrate and share experiences.
The boardwalk connects to the Fox River State Recreational Trail, making it easy to extend your walk or bike ride through the surrounding area. The wooden surfaces can be slippery when wet, so wear good shoes and watch your footing during rain or after water spray.
The benches lining the deck are designed to act as flood barriers, engineered to withstand major water surges from the river. This dual-purpose design merges comfort for visitors with practical protection during heavy flooding.
