Hagemeister Park, Historic football stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin, US
Hagemeister Park was a football stadium with a grass playing surface located between Baird and Walnut Streets near the East River in Green Bay. The venue had an open sandlot design without permanent structures, allowing spectators to stand or position themselves around the field.
The park served as the first home of the Green Bay Packers from 1919 to 1922 during the team's earliest years in the National Football League. It marked the beginning of professional football in the area before the team relocated.
The grounds hosted a dance hall, bowling alley, roller rink, and pavilion theater beyond the playing field. These facilities made it a gathering place where residents came for entertainment and social activities.
Spectators arrived by streetcar and parked vehicles near the roped-off playing area. Standing on cars was common to get a better view of the action on the field.
During halftime, teams gathered in the end zones to discuss plays while spectators formed circles around them. Fans could listen in on the tactical conversations between coaches and players.
