Fletcher Covered Bridge

Fletcher Covered Bridge is a timber-framed structure crossing Tenmile Creek that displays a Multiple King Post design common in 19th-century construction. The bridge features wooden beams supporting the deck beneath its protective roof, creating a fully enclosed passageway for crossing the water.

This structure was built in 1891 using design principles that defined covered bridge construction of that era. Its survival makes it one of only two remaining examples of this construction method in Harrison County.

The bridge is accessible by vehicle from Marshville Road and allows regular crossing with standard vehicles. Visitors should watch their footing inside the covered structure, as the wooden floor can become slippery when wet.

The bridge received major restoration work that replaced key structural timbers and installed new exterior materials. This comprehensive intervention preserved the structure for future use while maintaining its original character.
