Waldo Hotel, Seven-story Beaux-Arts hotel in Clarksburg, United States.
The Waldo Hotel stands with a symmetrical facade, brick and terra cotta construction, and classical details designed by architect Harrison Albright in 1901.
Nathan Goff Jr. invested $400,000 to construct this grand hotel between 1901 and 1904, during Clarksburg's economic growth period fueled by coal industry.
The hotel's 47-foot by 56-foot lobby featured mosaic tile floors, marble columns, and wrap-around balconies accessed by an 11-foot wide marble staircase.
Guy D. Goff maintained his official residence on the fourth floor while serving as United States Senator from 1925 to 1931.
The building contained its own water filtration system and an ice plant capable of producing 1,000 pounds of ice daily when it opened in 1904.
