Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area

Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area encompasses 3,030 acres of wetlands, mixed hardwood forests, and water systems along the Tygart Valley River.

The land management area evolved from a public hunting ground to become an essential conservation site for northern West Virginia's wildlife populations.

Local residents regularly participate in seasonal hunting activities, targeting species such as deer, turkey, grouse, and waterfowl throughout designated periods.

Visitors can access 40 camping sites with pit toilets and well water, while also utilizing the 200-yard shooting range operating Monday through Saturday.

The management area contains six major bird observation locations where specialists have documented 201 different bird species through systematic monitoring.
