Gentile Air Force Station, Former military installation in Kettering, Ohio, United States
Gentile Air Force Station was a military installation in Kettering that handled the storage and distribution of electronic components for the Defense Department. The facility included seven major buildings and approximately 70 smaller structures spread across its suburban location without any runways.
The station was built between 1943 and 1944, replacing an earlier airfield and farmland in the Dayton area. It was named after World War II fighter pilot Don Gentile and consolidated Signal Corps Depot operations.
The installation honored World War II fighter ace Don Gentile and later transformed into Kettering Business Park, reflecting the evolution of military facilities.
The site is located in the suburban Kettering area near Dayton and is now known as Kettering Business Park. Visitors should note that this is a former military complex that has been converted to commercial use.
The facility processed over three billion transactions annually and coordinated complex logistics operations throughout the Defense Department. This massive administrative capacity made it one of the most important supply centers for the entire US military.
