Built in 1915 by architect Marcus Burrowes, the house served as both a residence and dance studio for the Strasburg family until 1925.
The residence transformed from a private dance academy into Wayne State University Music Annex, reflecting the neighborhood's shift toward educational purposes.
Located at 5415 Cass Avenue, the building maintains its original architectural elements while functioning as part of Wayne State University campus.
The structure stands as one of the remaining houses from the period before Wayne State University expanded its central campus in this Detroit neighborhood.
