Samuel L. Smith House, Queen Anne style residence in Midtown Detroit, United States

Red brick mansion at 5035 Woodward Avenue features a three-story structure with a round corner tower and Romanesque front entry arch.

Built in 1889 by Rogers and MacFarlane architects for William C. Williams, who organized the Detroit College of Medicine before selling it to Samuel L. Smith.

The house contains multiple fireplaces, oak wainscoting, and a leaded glass window displaying William C. Williams's coat of arms and initials.

Wayne State University maintains the building at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Warren Avenue, near the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Samuel Smith, who lived in the house for 27 years, invested in the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company and financed the Olds Motor Works.
