Hoverter and Sholl Box Huckleberry Natural Area, National Natural Landmark in Perry County, Pennsylvania.

The area contains a 10-acre protected forest with white pine and oak trees surrounding a colony of box huckleberry plants near New Bloomfield.

Spencer Baird discovered this box huckleberry colony in 1845, leading to its classification by botanist Asa Gray during a period of scientific exploration.

The natural area features 27 interpretive stations along a loop trail that educate visitors about the local plant species and forest ecology.

Visitors can access the site through Huckleberry Road and explore the 0.25-mile trail that circles the protected natural area.
