Hyner View State Park, Mountain overlook in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, US
Hyner View State Park is a protected nature reserve with an observation platform at approximately 1,940 feet of elevation offering views across the West Branch Susquehanna River valley. The platform sits directly along Pennsylvania Route 120 and allows visitors to see across the surrounding forested landscape.
The site was developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, which built a stone retaining wall at the observation area. The location became a state park in 1965.
A monument near the parking area displays stones from forests across Pennsylvania to honor the state's forest fire wardens and their work protecting the woods. Visitors can see this memorial and understand how these workers shaped the region's relationship with its natural areas.
The park can be reached via a five-mile paved road from Hyner Run Road, with restrooms and a picnic area available. The site is open from sunrise to sunset.
A specialized launch ramp below the observation wall allows hang gliders to take flight throughout the year over the valley. This activity takes advantage of the natural wind and thermal conditions of the area.
