Lynn's Paradise Cafe, Southern cuisine restaurant in The Highlands, Louisville, US.
Lynn's Paradise Cafe was a restaurant in The Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, set inside a former grocery store with multicolored exterior walls and decorative objects filling the dining areas. The menu focused on Southern specialties, including the Paradise Hot Brown sandwich and tropical French toast, with breakfast served throughout all opening hours.
The restaurant opened in 1991, first in Crescent Hill before moving to its final building in The Highlands. It stayed open until 2013, when owner Lynn Winter chose to close it.
The cafe was known for hosting the Kentucky State Fair Ugly Lamp Contest and an annual New Year's Eve pajama party. These events drew regulars and newcomers alike and became a recognized part of Louisville's social life.
The cafe was easy to spot from the street thanks to its painted exterior, making it one of the more recognizable buildings in The Highlands. Since breakfast was served all day, visitors could stop by at almost any time without worrying about the time of day.
Owner Lynn Winter defeated celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a breakfast cooking competition broadcast on the Food Network. That win brought the cafe attention far beyond Louisville.
