Heyburn Building, Neoclassical office building in downtown Louisville, United States
The Heyburn Building is a neoclassical office structure with 17 floors that rises about 250 feet (76 meters) above West Broadway and shapes the downtown skyline. Large windows throughout the facade allow natural light to fill the interior work spaces.
The building was completed in 1928 by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White architects and stood as Kentucky's tallest structure for several years. Its dominance in the skyline changed only after neighboring tall buildings were constructed in the following decades.
The building occupies the former site of a grand residence and marks the shift from residential to commercial use in downtown Louisville. This transformation reflects how the city evolved from an area defined by private estates into a modern business district.
The building is easily accessible on West Broadway in the downtown area and offers ample parking on-site. The surrounding neighborhood makes it convenient to walk to nearby restaurants and shops.
The building underwent a major renovation in 1983 that restored its original neoclassical elegance and secured its long-term use. This investment in rebuilding the facade systems and updating interior infrastructure allowed it to remain relevant while continuing to provide modern office space.
