Miesville Ravine Park Reserve

Miesville Ravine Park Reserve is a wooded nature reserve in Dakota County featuring oak, maple, cottonwood, and pine forests across rolling terrain. Trout Brook runs through the landscape, fed by cold springs that emerge from underground sources.

The reserve formed around Trout Brook, which has been monitored for decades to maintain water quality and support fish populations. The stream flows through karst landscape shaped by water and rock over long periods.

The reserve maintains two separate picnic areas, the Cannon Picnic Shelter and the Trout Brook Picnic Shelter, where visitors gather for outdoor activities.

Access is free and available daily from early morning until dusk. Visitors should plan around occasional seasonal closures for wildlife management activities.

The reserve contains a multi-mile cold water trout stream fed by underground karst springs that eventually flows into the Cannon River. This combination of cool clear water and the underlying geology creates rare habitats for specialized fish species.
