McLain State Park, State park in Hancock Township, Michigan, US
McLain State Park extends along two miles of Lake Superior shore, offering sandy beaches and dense forest areas in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
The state park was established to preserve the natural shoreline of Lake Superior and provide recreational opportunities for Michigan residents since the early 1900s.
Local residents gather at the park during summer months for traditional sunset viewing celebrations and community beach activities on Lake Superior.
The park maintains 103 modern campsites with electrical connections, modern restrooms, and showers, plus direct access to swimming and fishing areas.
Winter visitors can observe lake effect snow formations and ice structures that form along the Lake Superior shoreline from November through March.
