Pennypacker Mills, Colonial Revival mansion in Perkiomen Township, United States
Located on the shore of Perkiomen Creek, Pennypacker Mills encompasses 170 acres of farmland with a mansion featuring Colonial Revival architectural elements.
George Washington established his headquarters at Pennypacker Mills in 1777 before the Battle of Germantown, and the site later served as a field hospital.
The mansion displays an extensive collection of antiques and manuscripts gathered by Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker during the early 1900s.
Pennypacker Mills welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM without admission fees.
Eight generations of the Pennypacker family maintained ownership of the property after Peter Pennebacker purchased it in 1747 from Hans Jost Hite.
