Evansburg State Park

Evansburg State Park is a large natural area covering more than 3,300 acres in Montgomery County filled with woodland and open spaces. The Skippack Creek has carved ridges and valleys through the property, creating varied terrain for hiking and exploration.

Mennonite farmers first settled the area in the 1700s and developed water-powered mills along Skippack Creek for grain milling and other industries. This early industrial activity shaped the landscape and left structures that remain visible throughout the park today.

Historic mill buildings and houses dating from the 1700s and 1800s dot the grounds, reflecting the area's role in early industrial development. Visitors passing through the park encounter these structures naturally integrated into the landscape, offering glimpses of how communities once thrived here.

The park offers numerous picnic areas with grills, clean restrooms, and hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels throughout the grounds. Bring water and sturdy shoes for walking, especially if exploring near the creek where terrain can be uneven.

An 18-hole golf course with public clubhouse operates within the park, blending sport and nature in an unexpected way. This combination of recreational facilities inside a natural area shows how different uses can coexist on the same grounds.
