Raccoon Creek State Park

Raccoon Creek State Park is a large protected area in Beaver County featuring a lake surrounded by forests and meadows with numerous walking paths. More than 40 trails of varying difficulty wind through diverse habitats and open spaces throughout the grounds.

The area was established in the 1930s as a recreation project during the Civilian Conservation Corps era. This initiative transformed the location into a public nature preserve available to visitors today.

The Wildflower Reserve contains 314 acres with 700 plant species, representing one of western Pennsylvania's most extensive native flora collections.

The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset with boat launches, a beach for swimming, and camping available. Visitors should bring appropriate gear depending on the season and activities they plan to do.

The Frankfort Mineral Springs Falls area preserves remnants from a Victorian spa resort that once drew visitors seeking healing mineral waters. Traces of this past period remain visible in the landscape today.
