Built in 1902 for $88,000, this courthouse replaced the previous wooden structure in Beaver Falls after Olivia became the county seat in 1900.
The courthouse stands as a representation of early 20th-century Minnesota governance, displaying the architectural preferences of public buildings from that period.
Located at 500 East DePue Avenue, the courthouse continues to serve Renville County's administrative and judicial functions within its 2.54-acre grounds.
Minneapolis architect Fremont D. Orff designed this building, which received National Register of Historic Places recognition on June 13, 1986.
