Rulo Bridge is a road bridge that crosses the Missouri River and connects Nebraska to Missouri on U.S. Route 159. The structure uses steel construction and provides a direct link between the two states for vehicle traffic.
The original bridge was built in 1939 by the Works Progress Administration and Kansas City Bridge Company, earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It was demolished by controlled implosion in 2014 and subsequently removed from the historic register in 2016.
The Rulo Bridge appeared in the 1973 film Paper Moon, marking its presence in American cinema and transportation infrastructure documentation.
The current bridge opened in 2013 and sits about 200 meters south of where the original structure stood. Vehicles can cross at any time, and visitors can view it from the roadside along U.S. Route 159.
