The park, established in 1962, contains prehistoric petroglyphs within its namesake cave and includes the reconstructed village of St. Deroin from 1853.
The sandstone cave displays ancient Native American petroglyphs that represent the connection between early inhabitants and the Missouri River region.
Visitors can access 22 miles of hiking trails, 16 miles of equestrian paths, camping areas, and fishing spots throughout the designated recreational zones.
The park incorporates an archery range, disc golf course, and seasonal events like Haunted Hollow with hayrack rides and campsite decoration contests.
