St. Patrick's Old Cathedral School, Federal educational institution in Nolita, Manhattan, US
The brick structure at 32 Prince Street stands between Mulberry and Mott Streets, featuring traditional Federal architectural design elements across multiple floors.
The building began its service in 1822 as a Roman Catholic Orphan Asylum before transitioning to St. Patrick's Convent and Girls' School in 1886.
The school maintained language communications in English, Spanish, and Chinese to serve its international student population through multiple generations.
The educational facility operated as a Pre-K through 8th-grade institution under the administration of the Archdiocese of New York until 2010.
The structure holds recognition as the most substantial institutional Federal-style building remaining in New York City, earning landmark status in 1966.
