Trail View State Park, Linear state park in Nassau County and Suffolk County, United States
Trail View State Park is a linear state park extending about 7.4 miles to connect Bethpage State Park with Cold Spring Harbor State Park across Long Island. The terrain shifts between woodlands, open areas, and natural sections that reflect different parts of the island's landscape.
New York State acquired the land in the 1960s for a planned parkway extension before it officially became a state park in 2002. This conversion created a continuous connection between two existing parks on Long Island.
The park forms a critical section of the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail network, integrating recreational paths within Long Island's natural corridor system.
The area is used year-round for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing without any admission fee. The best times to visit are autumn and early spring when weather conditions are most comfortable.
The park sits in a zone with elevation changes between 200 and 1000 feet creating different habitats for migrating birds along the Atlantic migration route. This rising and falling landscape makes the site particularly important for bird passage.
