Wallace State Park encompasses 502 acres of natural spaces with Lake Allaman at its center, offering hiking trails through wooded areas.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources established this park in 1932, naming it after the family that owned the land for over 100 years.
The Works Progress Administration contributed to the park's development in the 1930s, creating infrastructure that Missouri residents still use today.
The park provides modern camping facilities with hot showers, restrooms, and shaded picnic areas located seven miles south of Cameron.
Lake Allaman spans six acres within the park grounds at an elevation of 971 feet, supporting year-round fishing and swimming activities.
