White Pine Camp

White Pine Camp, Historic Adirondack camp in Paul Smiths, New York, US.

White Pine Camp is a large resort and event venue with twenty buildings spread across thirty-five acres, including sleeping cabins, dining halls, boathouses, and a tennis house. The property offers various accommodation types and recreational facilities such as boating, walking trails, and sports courts.

The property was built in the early 1900s as a private vacation home and gained national importance when President Calvin Coolidge used it as his summer residence in 1926. This event made it a notable location in American presidential history.

The buildings show traditional Adirondack architecture with stone fireplaces and high rooflines from the early 1900s. Visitors can see hand-crafted furniture and woodwork that define the rustic style of that era.

The grounds can be explored on walking trails, and visitors can use boats on the lakes. The best time to visit is from late spring through early fall, when weather is mild and all facilities are fully accessible.

The property houses an authentic Japanese teahouse, bringing a touch of Far Eastern culture to the Adirondack wilderness. Additionally, there is a well-preserved bowling alley where visitors can manually set the pins themselves, just as people did in earlier times.
