KFC Yum! Center, Multi-purpose arena in Louisville, United States.
KFC Yum! Center is a multi-purpose arena in Louisville that seats up to 22,090 spectators for basketball games and features about 105,730 square feet (9,800 square meters) of meeting space. The seating can be adjusted to suit different formats, from concerts to sporting events.
The architectural firm Populous designed the facility, which opened in October 2010 after several years of construction. Since then, the building with its modern glass facade has shaped the cityscape along the Ohio River.
The building serves as home court for University of Louisville basketball teams, drawing enthusiastic local supporters throughout the season. The venue also attracts touring musicians and becomes a gathering point for people from across the region during major events.
The complex lies about 6 miles (10 kilometers) southeast of the airport and can be easily reached on foot from downtown. On event evenings, it is advisable to arrive early, as the streets around the building become busy.
The exterior facade displays a changing light installation in the evening, glowing in team colors during games or matching the performer during concerts. The color show can be observed from the nearby waterfront promenade.
