Traverse City State Park, State park with beach on Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan, US
The park extends across 75 acres alongside Grand Traverse Bay, featuring a quarter-mile sandy beach and modern campground with 343 camping sites.
Established in 1920 on 16 acres of former logging territory, the park expanded through land additions in 1921 and 1939 on grounds previously inhabited by Ottawa Algonquin Indians.
The park connects to the 10.5-mile TART Trail system, which links Acme Township to Traverse City through a paved urban pathway for recreation and transportation.
Recreation Passport requirements apply for all vehicles entering the park, with entry points providing access to heated restrooms, picnic areas, and modern camping facilities.
The park offers MiWiFi wireless internet service near the contact station, extending approximately 150 feet in all directions throughout the campground area.
