Keswick Theater, Music venue in Glenside, United States.
Keswick Theater is a concert and entertainment venue in Abington Township, Pennsylvania, housed in a Tudor Revival building with around 1,300 seats. The hall hosts a wide range of events, from live music to film screenings and comedy shows.
The theater was designed by architect Horace Trumbauer, known for his work on large estates and public buildings in the Philadelphia region, and opened in the 1930s. It was later listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which helped protect its original fabric.
The building's Tudor Revival exterior, with its half-timbering and patterned brickwork, gives the space a character that sets it apart from a typical concert hall. Inside, the program shifts between rock, comedy, film, and spoken word, drawing very different crowds from one night to the next.
The venue sits on N Keswick Avenue in Glenside and is easiest to reach by car, with parking available nearby. Buying tickets in advance is a good idea, especially for popular shows that tend to sell out quickly.
Horace Trumbauer, who designed the building, never received formal architectural training and was largely self-taught. Despite this, he became one of the most sought-after architects in the Philadelphia area, responsible for some of the grandest private homes in the region.
