Anton Art Center, Art center in Mount Clemens, Michigan, United States.
The Anton Art Center is an art museum and exhibition space in Mount Clemens housed in a Neoclassical building with red brick walls, Doric columns, and limestone trim. The symmetrical design and crafted details define its exterior.
The building opened in 1904 as a Carnegie Library, funded by industrialist Andrew Carnegie. It was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
The center displays rotating exhibitions featuring artists from the region, across the country, and internationally. It also offers art classes and workshops for people of all ages.
The center is located in downtown Mount Clemens with free admission and easy-to-access spaces. Elevators and ample parking are available for visitors.
The Gebran and Suzanne Anton Foundation funded an expansion in 2005 that transformed the original structure into its current form. This modernization allowed the art center to offer a broader range of programming.
