Country Cabin is a one-story log structure built from chestnut wood located at the junction of US 23 and VA 790 in Norton, Virginia. The building measures roughly 20 feet by 40 feet (6 by 12 meters) and serves as a gathering place for music, weddings, and community events.
The cabin was built in 1937 during the Great Depression as part of the Works Progress Administration program, with young people from the area helping with construction. This job-creation initiative shaped the venue's early history and community roots.
The venue hosts regular Saturday night performances where musicians play traditional Appalachian music for the community. These gatherings keep local musical traditions alive and bring together people who care about old-time sounds and bluegrass.
