Morey Memorial Bridge, Road bridge across Connecticut River in Orford, United States.
The Samuel Morey Memorial Bridge is a road bridge carrying traffic across the Connecticut River between New Hampshire and Vermont. Its two connected arches feature Art Deco design elements typical of construction from that era.
The bridge was built between 1937 and 1938 by the American Bridge Company following the destruction of a wooden predecessor by flooding in March 1936. This project was part of post-disaster rebuilding efforts in the region.
The structure earned recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 for its Art Deco design elements and engineering significance.
The bridge connects Orford in New Hampshire with Fairlee in Vermont along Route 25A. Visitors can walk or drive across it and enjoy views of the river from above.
Remnants of the original wooden bridge remain visible in the riverbed, including stone deposits and foundations of former piers. These traces allow visitors to see evidence of the earlier structure still present today.
