Hard Labor Creek State Park

Hard Labor Creek State Park encompasses 5,804 acres of land with two lakes, multiple trails, and natural Piedmont landscapes in Morgan and Walton Counties.

The park emerged from a 1933 Federal Unemployment Relief Act initiative, leading to the construction of facilities by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression.

The National Park Service rustic architectural style remains visible throughout the structures, earning the park a place on the National Register of Historic Places.

The park maintains 51 campsites for tents and RVs, 20 cottages with Wi-Fi, multiple group shelters, and specific areas for equestrian activities with 30 horse stalls.

Lake Rutledge spans 274 acres with a 10-horsepower limit on boats, while the smaller 48-acre Lake Brantley operates without a boat ramp.
