Fort Yargo State Park

Fort Yargo State Park spans 1,816 acres with a 260-acre lake, offering extensive recreational trails and natural landscapes in the heart of Georgia.

The park features a log fort constructed in 1792 by early settlers who required protection against Creek and Cherokee tribes during the frontier period.

The park maintains several group facilities and event spaces, including an event center accommodating 72 guests and shelters supporting up to 100 people.

Visitors can choose between 17 cottages, 6 yurts, 47 camping sites for tents and RVs, and 12 walk-in campsites for overnight stays.

The park provides 20.5 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, complemented by a wooden disc golf course through forest terrain.
