This facility was constructed in 1903 by the Commercial Pacific Cable Company and established the first modern telecommunications link between Guam and the outside world. It was part of a larger project to connect Asia and America through submarine telegraph cables.
This site served as a vital communications hub that connected Guam with distant regions through submarine cables. It enabled the rapid transmission of messages and weather information across vast ocean distances.
