Cantwell Cliffs, Sandstone cliffs in Hocking County, United States.

The natural formation features steep cliffs rising over 150 feet high, overlooking Buck Run stream and creating deep valleys within Hocking Hills State Park.

The cliffs bear the name of the Cantwell family from Virginia, with one brother meeting his end at this location during early settlement times.

The trails through Cantwell Cliffs serve the local community and visitors through organized nature programs and guided educational hiking experiences.

Visitors can access two distinct trail loops, each approximately one mile long, requiring 60 to 80 minutes to complete through moderately challenging terrain.

The narrow passageway known as Fat Woman's Squeeze requires hikers to navigate between massive fallen rock blocks to reach the main gorge area.
