Seminary Woods St. Francis, Nature park in St. Francis, United States.
Seminary Woods spreads across 68 acres of land near Lake Michigan, containing a mix of beech trees, maple trees, and native wildflowers throughout the forest.
The forest area became part of Saint Francis de Sales Seminary in 1855 when the institution relocated from Milwaukee to its current location.
The woods incorporate a seminary cemetery among the trees, featuring graves of Franciscan sisters, archbishops, and children from St. Aemilian's orphanage.
Visitors can explore the forest through walking paths while observing local wildlife, including deer and owls that inhabit the natural environment.
Seminary Woods represents one of the remaining beech-maple mesic forests in Wisconsin, shaped by glacial movements from 11,000 years ago.
