Parque Olímpico de la Juventud, parc sportif à Buenos Aires
Parque Olímpico de la Juventud is a sports park in the Villa Soldati neighborhood of Buenos Aires with modern facilities built for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The complex includes six large halls for various sports, two Olympic-size swimming pools with diving platforms, running tracks, tennis courts, and beach volleyball fields spread across landscaped grounds with trees and green spaces.
The park was designed in the late 1970s by architect and former Olympian Estanislao Kocourek, a multiple South American champion in hurdles who competed at the 1952 Helsinki Games. The grounds were expanded for the 2018 Youth Summer Games and have since served as a training center and recreational facility for the city.
The park takes its name from the Youth Olympic Games held here in 2018 and now serves as a training ground for young athletes and gathering space for neighborhood residents. The facility blends sports infrastructure with open green spaces, showing how the city makes athletic venues accessible to the community.
The park sits between Avenidas Cámpora, Roca, and 27 de Febrero in Villa Soldati and is reachable by foot or public transport. Visitors can use the green spaces freely, visit the sports facilities, and walk along paved paths that connect the various pavilions and outdoor courts.
One distinctive feature is the indoor diving pool with jump platforms at heights of 10, 16, and 33 feet plus adjustable springboards, holding about 1.3 million gallons of water. This advanced setup provides world-class training and competition opportunities for diving athletes.
