Bernegg Castle

Located in the village of Emmishofen, Bernegg Castle sits on the grounds of Kreuzlingen municipality with walls tapering from base to upper levels.

The castle, established in 1292, underwent changes in ownership from the original inhabitants until its recognition as a regional cultural property.

The structure represents medieval Swiss architectural design, featuring traditional defensive elements such as arrow slits integrated into the stone walls.

The castle maintains its original third-story entrance while a converted arrow slit on the south wall serves as the current main access point.

The four-story rectangular building contains remnants of a brick oven on its highest level, indicating the domestic functions of the medieval period.
