Fellbach, Administrative center in Stuttgart region, Germany.
Fellbach serves as an administrative center in the Stuttgart region and lies between the Neckar and Rems valleys at the northern edge of the Schurwald hills. The municipality includes several districts that spread across gently rolling terrain with vineyards and residential areas.
The settlement first appears in records from 1121 as Velbach and gained town status in 1933. During the 1970s, the neighboring communities of Schmiden and Oeffingen joined the municipality.
The City Museum occupies a half-timbered building dating to 1680 and displays exhibits about how the region developed. Visitors can trace the area's transformation through several periods right inside this old structure.
The town connects to Stuttgart via S-Bahn lines S2 and S3, which are part of the regional transport network. Visitors can navigate the different districts on foot, as signage points toward town centers and train stations.
The vineyards cover around 182 hectares (450 acres) and shape the local scenery with their terraced slopes. Growing grapes here follows a tradition that goes back centuries and remains visible in daily life.
