Eisleben is a town in the Mansfeld-Südharz district of Saxony-Anhalt, recognized as the birthplace and final resting place of Martin Luther. Martin Luther entered the world here on November 10, 1483, and returned in February 1546 to deliver his final sermons before dying in the same town. The Reformation shaped the place through these twin events, turning it into a pilgrimage destination for Protestants across Europe.
