Waldershof, municipality of Germany

Waldershof is a small town in the Tirschenreuth area of Bavaria, surrounded by large forests and located between the Steinwald and Fichtelgebirge nature parks. The town contains several structures of interest, including a castle dating to around the 12th century, St. Sebastian Church, and working craft workshops that continue to operate.

The town dates back to medieval times, with origins traceable to around the 12th century as evidenced by its castle and oldest structures. St. Sebastian Church and other landmarks reflect the continuous settlement and development of the region across subsequent centuries.

The town carries the heritage of rural Upper Palatinate in its layout and traditions, with local porcelain workshops serving as active centers of craft work that visitors can observe directly. These businesses remain integral to how residents and visitors experience daily life in the community.

The town is small enough to explore comfortably on foot or by bike, with well-maintained streets and marked trails through the surrounding forests. Numerous walking routes lead into nature and connect to nearby viewpoints and observation towers in the region.

Several observation towers dot the area, including the Oberpfalzturm and the tower atop Kösseine mountain, rewarding visitors with views across the forested landscape. These towers are relatively modern additions that provide an interesting contrast to the medieval monuments that define the town.
