Aprath Mill, Historic watermill in Wülfrath, Germany.
The three-story stone masonry structure with gable roof and dormers sits next to a mill pond fed by the Brucher Bach.
Duke Wilhelm III of Berg designated this building as the bann mill at the beginning of the 16th century, marking its official role.
This mill represents traditional grain processing methods and rural economic systems that sustained communities in North Rhine-Westphalia for generations.
The mill pond spans 1.3 hectares within the Aprather Mühlenteich nature reserve, which extends across 9 hectares including the Düssel river flow.
The building underwent reconstruction after a 19th-century fire and now features a modern extension on its upper section.
