Die Welle, Office complex in Frankfurt, Germany
Die Welle is an office and retail complex in Frankfurt made up of three connected sections with a curved, wave-shaped facade. The sections are arranged around a public promenade that links the offices, shops, restaurants, and parking areas within the same structure.
The site once belonged to a major industrial company that used it for production and administration. It was cleared in the late 1990s and rebuilt between 1998 and 2003, designed by JSK Architekten.
Die Welle sits close to the Main riverbank and draws a steady crowd of office workers and passersby during lunch hours. The ground-floor restaurants and cafés have become a regular stop for people working in the surrounding area.
The complex sits within walking distance of the Main riverbank and is easy to reach on foot from the surrounding area. Inside, the layout is straightforward, making it simple to move between the offices, shops, and dining areas.
A small artificial canal runs along the public promenade between the three building sections, and many first-time visitors walk past it without noticing. This waterway is actually what inspired the building's name, together with the curved shape of the facade.
