Description
Rothschild Park is a 4.5-hectare green space in central Frankfurt with winding paths, mature trees, and a restored neo-Gothic tower visible behind a small hill. The park can be entered from multiple points and offers various areas to explore throughout its grounds.
History
Banker Amschel Mayer von Rothschild purchased the land in 1816 and created a large estate with a palace and English-style garden. The original mansion stood until World War II, when it was lost during the conflict.
Culture
Seven bronze sculptures by Georg Kolbe create a ring of statues throughout the park, each showing human forms that express harmony. Visitors can discover these artworks along the paths and see them from changing perspectives as they walk.
Practical
The park is free to visit and includes a children's playground for families. It remains open year-round, making it suitable for visits during any season.
