Nordpark

Nordpark extends across nine hectares along the Gera River, containing open meadows, walking paths, and numerous recreational areas throughout its landscape.

The park's development began after World War I under director Hermann Braband, with construction taking place from 1923 to 1925 following city council approval.

The park functions as a central meeting point for local residents, offering spaces for outdoor activities, community gatherings, and recreational pursuits.

Visitors can access the park through multiple entrances, with convenient tram connections at Baumerstrasse station serving lines 3 and 6.

During summer evenings, the park serves as a launch site for hot air balloon rides, providing aerial views of Erfurt's landscape.
