Nordpark

Nordpark is a large green space along the Gera covering nine hectares with meadows, walking routes, and relaxation areas. The terrain is flat and well-organized, with paths connecting different zones through open landscapes.

The park was created in the 1920s following World War I under director Hermann Braband and was built between 1923 and 1925. The city council approved the project, which shaped the neighborhood's growth.

The park serves as a gathering place where locals walk, exercise, and spend time outdoors in everyday activities. You see families on the meadows, joggers on the paths, and people relaxing by the riverside.

The park has multiple entrances and is well-served by public transportation. The Baumerstrasse tram station nearby connects with lines 3 and 6 for easy access.

Hot air balloons launch from the park on summer evenings, offering visitors a chance to see the city from above. This seasonal activity adds an unexpected dimension to the park experience for those interested in aerial views.
