Schlossbrauerei Neunkirchen, Historic brewery and architectural monument in Neunkirchen, Germany.
Schlossbrauerei Neunkirchen is a historic brewery located at Büchelstraße 7, positioned near the former Schloss Jägersberg. The complex displays traditional German brewing architecture with characteristic features of 19th-century industrial construction.
The brewery was founded in 1838 by Christian Jacob Schmidt and operated continuously until 1997, when Karlsberg Brewery acquired and closed the facility. Its long operational span of more than 150 years established it as a significant production center in the region.
The brewery was a major employer for generations and shaped local life through its production activities and presence in the community. The buildings still display the craftsmanship of their architectural design from the facility's active years.
Archive documents about the brewery's history are available at the Stadtarchiv Neunkirchen and document its entire operational period. Visitors can view the exterior grounds and explore the architecture from street level.
The Schmidt-Klett family, who also operated Donnerbräu in Saarlouis, held significant influence over both cities through their business activities. Upon the death of Else Schmidt-Klett, the family left their assets and properties to both towns to support local interests.
